SSBE / QUALITY STANDARDS
Clarity before
every order.
Start with the right product specification. Confirm the testing, documentation and packing your market requires before placing an export order.
Quality starts with your application.
Requirements differ between food ingredients, agricultural commodities and retail products. SSBE’s approach is to clarify the product, agreed limits and supporting information for your order.
Grade & granulation
For grits, flaking grits and flour, compare the technical sheet with your production requirements.
- Product grade and sieve distribution
- Moisture, fat, ash and protein
- Aflatoxin and other requested tests
Variety & condition
For rice, grains and seeds, define the variety and quality parameters relevant to your intended use.
- Variety, size and broken percentage
- Moisture and foreign matter limits
- Packing and destination requirements
Brand & pack details
For packaged products, provide a precise brand and SKU list so the offer matches your distribution needs.
- Brand, variant and retail pack size
- Carton quantities and shelf-life needs
- Labelling and market requirements
Corn specifications at a glance.
These are product specification limits, not the measured results for a new shipment.
| Parameter | Grits 101 / 108 / 109 & broken corn* | Coarse corn flour |
|---|---|---|
| Moisture | 13.5% maximum | 14% maximum |
| Fat | 1% maximum | 1.75% maximum |
| Ash | 0.5% maximum | 1% maximum |
| Protein | 7–10% | 7–10% |
| Total aflatoxin (B1+B2+G1+G2) | 10 PPB maximum | 10 PPB maximum |
*Broken corn sheets cover 1–2 mm, 2–3 mm and 4–5 mm. 10 PPB equals 10 µg/kg. Use the grade-specific sheet for full parameters, methods and sieve distributions. Confirm any tighter buyer limits and destination requirements before ordering.
Specification, sample and COA: different purposes.
Technical specification
Defines product parameters and acceptance limits. Check the grade, revision and test methods before agreeing the order.
Certificate of analysis (COA)
Reports test results for the identified sample or batch. Check the product, batch or lot reference, test date, methods and results.
Product sample
Helps you assess appearance, granulation and performance in your process. Discuss sample quantity and courier arrangements with SSBE.
Declarations & certificates
Specify any non-GMO, allergen, Halal or other documentation your buyer needs. Confirm applicability to the exact product and shipment.
The supplied corn sheets distinguish specification limits from “Result achieved” and mark certain parameters as analysed by an external NABL-accredited laboratory. A historical result is not a shipment-specific COA. Agree which tests and laboratory documentation your order requires.
PLAN THE DETAILS EARLY
Before your shipment is confirmed.
Include quality and documentation requirements in the enquiry so they can be addressed in the quotation.
Your buyer checklist
- Confirm the product, grade and intended application.
- Agree specification limits and sieve distribution where relevant.
- Identify required tests, COA and supporting declarations.
- Confirm bag or carton size, labels and batch identification.
- Share destination country, port and documentation needs.
- Agree quantity, delivery timing and quotation terms.
